Scouts have been working on their science badge by making exploding bags using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.  We talked about finger prints and made invisible ink.

We have also been looking at properties of wood for burning and deciding what worked better to get fires started and then what wood was best to keep them hot to enable us to cook on them.  Scouts also learnt how to make feather sticks to get fires started easier.

We visited a charity that helps the homeless and listened to a service user on how they have helped them find a new home.  They learnt about why people become homeless and what food and items the need to survive on the streets.  We are having a food collection to help the charity.

We have also been bell ringing at St Marys church which was a first for us. It was very informative and scout got to climb the tower to see the bells and mechanism and also to go onto the roof.  what a view it was.

We have also been on a few night hikes and continue to work on our navigation and mapping skills.
